First time to West Coast Park!
The “Play Centre in the West” is fun filled with activities like beach volleyball games and…
… kite flying! I was really surprised to see so many strikingly colourful kites of different forms and sizes flying high up against the blue sky.
Apparently, it’s not easy to control a parachute kite. Many times the “parachute” would just twist and turn, making it hard to fly the kite in the breeze.
Learn how to fly a kite like a pro! At least it’s a healthier pastime than playing computer games all day long!
In serious mood: the little boy was flying a big blue whale kite that nearly “dived” into the sea moments later!
A “bee” kite, I supposed!
Like an arrow (kite) graph with a negative slope moving upward positively.
Rainbow kite!
Rayfish kite!
On the field, kite flying becomes a serious business!
Another rainbow kite!
Spotted a red octopus kite!
Nature’s work of art: a glimpse of sunburst effect!
Silhouette of ships and structures during sunset.
How to go to West Coast Park by public transport?
From Jurong MRT station, take bus 176 (towards the east) at Jurong Regional Library bus stop.
From Clementi MRT station, take bus 175.
*Alight opposite MacDonald’s at West Coast Park.

Kite fyling??? It’s been a long time since I’ve done this. I remember flying cheap kites with my brother. The picture of that little boy brings back some good old memories π
You captured two beautiful pictures of sunset. AMAZING!!! Love the faraway sunburst phenomenon.
This post is really refreshing! I’m gonna to capture kite flying activities in Kepong Metropolitan Park.
Cheers!

First time seeing so many kites in the blue sky ! I like the “bee”kite.
My favourite activity is flying kite but I rarely have the opportunity to do so when live in town . All houses block kites flying high π !

Oops, never been before. It’s nice to see so many kites in the air high up. Wow, so many different kinds of design you have it in Singapore! Our kite designs here are mostly conventional type but we have more kites flying here in one of our metropolitan park in Kepong as what Mylo mentioned earlier… π

@Jasper: Buy them π
@mylo: I saw many ppl flying kites in Penang too. Seems like it’s kite-flying trend now π In fact, nowadays, I see many many ppl flying kites all over Singapore, even at night, the kites are illuminated with tiny bulbs!
@Cecil: Conventional kites? But I see similar ones in Penang too and they are cheap and nice! But I’ve not seen the illuminated ones in Penang yet, saw many in Singapore. Actually, kite flyers are all over the place in Singapore but it’s hard for me to capture the kites in the sky. They just look very tiny in my camera if I try to be “greedy” to capture everything. π

That was awsome thanks.
