The 29th Beijing Olympic 2008 has finally come to an end on 24 August. It’s yet another astounding ceremony with amazing performances and countless fireworks bursting into the skies!
Riders on illuminated wheels.
Two humongous drums suspending in the air, each with a drummer.
For the moment, these three Marathon medalists must be the luckiest men on earth when the whole world was watching their victory ceremony during the closing ceremony in Beijing.
A stunning performance with suspended banners.
London will host the next Olympic Games in year 2012.
Wasn’t surprised to see David Beckham representing the London host in the closing ceremony, but it was kinda funny to see the little girl carrying a football and Beckham kicking it off to the ground, as if the main theme of the London host is about soccer.
Brilliant fireworks illuminating the night, wondering how many fireworks were sent into the sky… Gonna miss the Olympic Games for another four years!

Congratulations to China for a superb Olympic Games. And the marathon runners deserve a huge audience for their medal ceremony – does any event epitomise the Olympics better than the marathon and the supreme efforts required simply to complete the course.
eunice
@Mark: Absolutely, especially when the marathon runners need to run for more than 42km. Afterall, the name Marathon comes from the legend of the Greek messenger.
Anston
Wow~ so beautiful ler the closing ceremony, if can feel the live will be more great!!
I should sit in front of the TV last night rather than go take fireworks pics, bad experience anyway 🙁
eunice
@Anston: Yeah, the closing is awesome. Hopefully there is a delayed telecast for you! Firework pics? I thought it has been raining everyday recently.. really not a good weather for photo-taking. But I guess you enjoyed watching the fireworks.
antonio
Yeah, the same feeling that you get after the world cup football, WHAT”S NEXT? we will all definitely miss the games. This installment of the Olympics is really monumental for it is a proof that CHINA is really ready to take the world and it will surely be a superpower to reckon with in the years to come, not just in sports but in politics and economics as well. AMerican domination to the sport finally ended, much to the celebration of many I guess. It’s fun to see 2012 if America can redeem itself…..
Forever HL

eunice
@melee: Oh, why you didn’t watch? Worth watching Beijing ceremonies cos they spent millions of dollars making them! =D
Footyman
Come to think of it, apart from the the three winning marathoners, another way to become famous is be that videoman there! Am sure he’s got a few seconds of “worldwide exposure” too!
eunice
@Footyman: U r so observant! Yeah, the videoman was damn near the winners! XD
melee
yeah. kinda busy that day 🙁 , but I will watch the replay.. 🙂
Jasper Jugan

TNH
finally it come to the end…sure China feel releif now because the game had end safely and they have won the champion..the closing ceremony was nice too…
eunice
@TNH: Yeah, that’s what I heard from some Chinese friends, that the whole event went on smoothly without major disruptions.
Justin
As a Chinese, I feel the same way, we were worrying a lot about disruptions before and during the Olympics. But finally, it proves to be a success, thank you, to the world, and also to you, our Singaporean friends, it is every one’s dedication that make this event a legend, this is not just China’s Olympics, but also the world’s.
eunice
@Justin: Yeah, that’s the slogan for Beijing Olympic! One World, One Dream. =D
Shar
