It doesn’t snow everywhere in Singapore. At certain times in December, it snows at Tanglin Mall. It snows BUBBLES!

You can tell how much the kids love the “snow” play. They are going gaga over “snowing frenzy”!

Obviously, the HARDCORE one… facing directly at the bubble blowhole!

Hey raincoat kid, that’s a smart move.

The adults are loving it too.

And drivers get free bubbles car wash.

You still need to clean up the bubbles, just like shoving the snow!

Where on earth is Tanglin Mall?
163 Tanglin Road. The mall is located at the junction of Tanglin Road & Grange Road. You know it’s in Singapore right?
Snow sessions in Tanglin Mall. Until when? I’m not sure. But some say it’s until 31st Dec.
Snow: 7.30pm & 8.30pm daily (subject to weather conditions)
Nearest MRT: Orchard station.
Cross to Borders and walk straight down the stretch of malls until you reach Tanglin Mall. It takes about 15 mins walk. Ask around if not sure.

Merry Christmas!
The size and magnificence of this white building tells how important it must be at the time when it was built. To the locals, the Railway Station is the “Taj Mahal of Ipoh”.
In the early 20th century, many British tin-mining companies were set up in the city and Ipoh gained prominence. However, with the collapse of tin prices and the closure of the tin mines in the late 1970s, Ipoh’s growth had stagnated and resulted in the migration of many young talents to greener pastures.

The landscaped garden in front of the Railway Station accentuates its sense of grandeur.

Yes it’s 27 Dec today.. but I still have many X’mas pics yet to publish. Anyway, not to waste any leftovers, let’s “finish” them before 2008 ends! I was told not to take any pic in this office building except their Christmas tree. But the reflection on the bells hanging on the tree “betrayed” them. Ok ok, just being childish. XD

This is a very “oriental” Christmas tree by the look at the ornaments hanging on it. Not only that, the tree is upside down. I don’t know if it has other meanings, but if you are a Chinese, some auspicious words being placed upside down means “luck arrives”, so for the inverted Christmas tree, does it mean “Christmas arrives”? ^^ Read More »
Update: Snow Play @ Tanglin Mall 2009
Season’s Greetings from Singapore! This is the first X’mas for Travelerfolio! I wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Supposed to take “snowing” pictures outside Tanglin Mall, located at Tanglin road (near Orchard road), Singapore. But the “snow play” ended before we reached there. The huge Christmas tree here is decorated with thousands of recycled bottles.

Apparently, some kids wearing swimming suits were disappointed when they didn’t catch the “snow play”. Read More »
2 more days to Christmas, means another 9 more days to a brand new year! How time flies… Another set of X’mas pics taken from Orchard road to Somerset, Singapore. Should be the last set for Orchard road, if I didn’t go there again to take more pics. However, I still have many X’mas photos taken from elsewhere and will publish them soon!
The Sweet Family is here again, somewhere along the roadside.

“Have a white christmas” with Mr Condom. =P He says it loud at Orchard road.

Only 4 more days to Christmas! After showing you some Christmas pictures on Christmas Spectacular and A Sweet Christmas in the Tropics, here are more images taken from Orchard Road in Singapore.
Just outside The Paragon, you’ll see this charming Christmas tree beautifully decorated with mannequins.

See, the whole stretch of Orchard road is brilliantly lighted up, turning it into a magical fairyland.

I wonder if this humongous Christmas tree at Takashimaya Shopping Centre is the largest in Singapore. Even the Christmas ornaments hanging on it are very big.

Everywhere is swamped with shoppers buying X’mas gifts. Read More »
