iPhone Cover from Ben & Jerry

Woohoo! I got the iPhone cover from Ben & Jerry today. Won it from an easy-to-win contest run by a lovely Singapore Food Blogger, Catherine from Camemberu. Her latest blog post features my favourite pepper crabs from Eng Seng Restaurant (Singapore)! As suggested, I’m here to show off this strikingly colourful iPhone cover. LOL Thank you Catherine!

This is NOT an Advertorial! It’s a THANK YOU post!!! =)

My First HTML Website – Strictly NO LOLs

My first HTML website hosted by Geocities is officially shut down by Yahoo today, yet another four days to go before its 10th anniversary!!! Boohoo!!! What a shame! I couldn’t remember when I stopped updating the homepage but it was created on Nov 1999!

Back in the heydays, when there was no Facebook, no Twitter, no Web 2.0, Geocities was about as close as what we know today as social networks. It offered free web hosting services and that was where I learnt to write HTML to create my homepage and share travel photos online with friends! Back then, blinking gifs, marquee text and MIDI were very popular! Oops! Have I revealed my age? … :P

Luckily, I got this news earlier so all the files are already backed up! It’s quite embarrassing to showcase the screenshots of my super old HTML homepage here. Whatever. Just LOL if you want. I just realized that I was already building a small and simple travel site featuring my overseas trips way before TravelerFolio was created! @_@

See? Back then, I was trying hard to “retain” visitors with these “blazing hot” games like Tic-Tac-Toe, Slot machine and Video poker. -_-|||

This is what we called a blogroll now! And I was so niceeee to share useful sites online! XD And I was really inspired by the photos in Webshots!

Wow! I did a page about Singapore too! @_@

Feeling a bit nostalgic now. Will Wordpress and Blogspot shut down their services in the future too? :P

Good news (at least for me)! My old HTML website is now hosted here! http://travelerfolio.com/geocities/ . Strictly NO LOLs. Anyway, you won’t see the travel photos as I have already disabled that feature.

Thank you and Goodbye Geocities!!!

Add Me On Facebook

What a shame! This is the first time I ask you to add me on FACEBOOK! I’ve an FB account for TravelerFolio since I created this blog last year, but not many of you know about it as I didn’t share the link with you. So… please ADD ME! :D

I like TWITTER too! But somehow, whenever I want to tweet a message, it hangs there and the message never goes through. Anyway, my last message about “Why I always can’t tweet” did appear! LOL

I’ve a new blog theme!

It’s time for a change… I had been searching for a new template for this blog but just couldn’t find one that I like. Finally, I decided to learn to design a theme for Travelerfolio! And voila! Now you see this paper wordpress theme! Anyway, still need to fine tune on certain things… nonetheless, hope you have no problem navigating around and enjoy your stay here!

A screenshot of my old theme, a little sad to let it go…

“Excuse me, r u…?”

While waiting for my buddy, I loitered around Bugis Junction (a shopping mall in Singapore) last Friday when I thought I saw a familiar face of a blogger. I knew he works in London and he is back in Malaysia during this period, and he will visit Singapore too. To confirm, I stalked behind him, just wanted to see if it was really him. Mind you, this is the first time I became a stalker! LOL!

So, I approached him and asked if he is Cheewei (in red T-shirt). Bingo! In fact, he thought he saw me too, with my trademark specs. LOL! We met up the next day with his friend (in black stripe) and toured around the city for some nice photo shots. Cheewei has a photography blog, with professionally taken photos. If you could remember, I blogged about his site before.

**Remember Cheewei’s face. Maybe one day you might spot him on the street too! XD

The Good Thing About Blogging!

One good thing about blogging is we get to know friends from all over the world.

Yesterday, I received this lovely parcel that had flown a long way by FIRST CLASS from Honolulu to Singapore! The sender is none other than our favourite blogger – Bridge! We love visiting her blog; it’s just so original with beautiful travel photos and well-written articles. I enjoy touring around the world in her cyberspace and even JUMP with her! XD

Envy me! Look what I have got from Bridge! A slipper luggage tag, a hula dancer bookmark, a 6-month weekly planner with magnets, two emery boards, a Boston postcard, a post-it notepad with printed with “Hawaii”, a folder from University of Hawaii (where Bridge is studying right now) and a cute little card with Bridge’s handwriting all over it. I love ‘em all!

Warning!! Do not pester Bridge for gifts OK!

THANK YOU BRIDGE! You are such a wonderful friend! I hope to meet you in person too! I am sure the day will come.

Bridge’s birthday falls on 24 Oct. Let’s wish her a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
