Regarding the campsite, I think you need to take a bus to go uphill to this campsite from the city.
But the location is good - walking distance to the world famous Ponte Vecchio (but beware of some tricksters like I mentioned here, think u r smarter but just let u know > http://travelerfolio.com/string-puppet-trickster-florence/. )
Are you travelling with kids? Like I mentioned, at that time, probably still the same now, there is no light in the tent. The Tent we stayed had 2 beds. It gets cold at night. Bring a torch. Also, the restrooms are a walking distance away from the tent, so you need to walk in the cold LOL. We were there near the end of May. I think we only stayed there for a night. However, budget-wise, it's good, if you don't mind staying in tent.
See the attractions at walking distance away from the campsite:

I'm searching through web for budget accommodation in Florence for my Europe tour this May and found this Michelangelo campsite quite good and cheap also! I think they are selling at 13.5euro/nite now. What's your comment on this campsite? Is it ok for 2 nite stay there in May?

Haha what a coincidence Eunice. I think it's like around 10euro/night, but must remember to bring torchlight cos there is no electricity in the tent.

@Claudia: Hi! but I usually suggest it for a cheap accomodation in town!

hi Eunice! your pictures of Florence are so beautiful! I know this campsite, but never slept here, obviously I use to sleep in my own home when I’m in Florence <img
