@leafless: Now we all know the result – Li Jiawei lost the Bronze for Singles =( I think the better team deserves to win afterall, the Chinese players are really fantastic. Well, the next rising star I guess is Feng Tien Wei. She is really good.

I saw the match live. It was close. Li Jiawei had her chances. I’m rooting for her to get the silver. Hate to see the Chinese sweep the medals.

@Mark H: Gee, I thought that way too! But some articles also replaced the term “player” as “paddler”. The wooden racket used can also be called as a paddle or bat, depending on where in the world the game is played. Probably that’s why some called a table tennis player as a table tennis paddler too. =D

It is a little trivial but I have never heard a table-tennis player called a paddler – I more associate it with someone in a canoe!! It is more descriptive than a “player”.
